Staggered Start/Its All over !! At 7:30 we weren't quite sure but when it warmed up we ended up having a really good race with 141 out of 146 within 5+ minutes of each other. Looks like Mark's weighted average formula adjusted for distance, weather ,difficulty factor, drop the slowest,…. of the previous races worked pretty well . I am sure the finish line crew had a lot of fun for those 5 minutes but thanks to Heather and Naveen and supporting crew along with excellent homemade cooking ( I think Dan deserves the credit ) it was an great ending to our 2009/2010 extreme winter games (Appropriate that Olympics ended on the same day) I know we are all looking forward to the weather breaking and snow/ice melting with Spring a few weeks away ( hard to believe). Hopefully you will make the winter series banquet and find out who all the winners were but more importantly see everyone together one last time before we are off to the races we have planned. I also want to get my thanks in for great winter series especially to Mark who probably added a few years and grey hairs but was always positive (you overwhelmingly "won" job for next year) and all the creative race directors ( food and course selections!!) , enthusiastic volunteers , Mike Crowley and his crew at the park, Jack for capturing some of my worst moments ( which there were too many to choose from), our officers and the regulars Jenn, Jim ,Ray, Melanie and all the rest who helped throughout the series Banquet-Sunday March 14th at Northampton Valley Country Club In addition to the races we will set another record for number of people at Banquet. I am looking forward to our featured speaker, Chris McDougall and will try to get a few chapters in of his book. Any questions ,changes, etc contact Melanie at bcrrsocial@gmail.com Future races Sunday March 21st-Caesar Rodney Half - Come down and join the rest of the BCRR teams. To register go to web site http://www.mrsnv.com/evt/home.jsp?id=2308 I will try to send out notice on races we will have a lot of participation. It will normally include Broad Street, Sesame, July 4th, Four for the future, River to Sea , etc ( By the way read Newsletter this month for River to Sea announcement) Training runs
Saturday Morning Trail run at Washington Crossing Saturday -March 6th We will meet at 7:00AM at Cramer's in Yardley which is off of Main Street and Afton Avenue. We will determine course based on conditions. We will normally run the canal for approx 10 miles but its out and back so you can turn anytime. Otherwise ( like this week ) when we can't run on canal we will run a 6-7 mile loop in the streets and partly on the asphalt path around Yardley hunt. We will normally tack on 3-4 miles if anyone is interested. Sunday- March 7th I am sure we would like to get back to Washington Crossing and our 15 mile loop but I don't think everything will have melted. Meet at Tyler ( yes again !!) and you can go early at 7:00am or 7:30 or earlier but meet back at 8:00 for rest of Group at the Boathouse. Bill |
